Ultimate Christmas Sing-a-longs

The Christmas jumpers are on, the mince pies are ready to be eaten and the family games are fired up waiting to be played.. but what’s missing? The festive music! Now it’s no surprise that I’m a massive lover of all things music related, but Christmas music just takes it to a whole new level. There’s something so cheerful about (most) Christmas anthems that just make you want to sing and dance your life away. I’ve put together my list of ultimate Christmas sing-a-longs that need a space on that Christmas playlist!

Mariah Carey – All I want for Christmas is you

Sorry but, this had to be at the start of the list. The first time I played this was around mid-September on a car journey with my mum. Although I was in the Christmas mood bobbing and singing along, I got a lot of disapproving daggers from the passenger seat (although I did see the leg tapping away, shhh).

Band Aid – Do they know It’s Christmas

Now this song takes me wayyy back to Primary School, year 3 to be specific. That year, we learnt the words to this song as we sang it in the school hall, so It’s one I know all the words to. Every time I hear this song it takes me right back to the classroom, and for some reason it just makes me feel all funny inside. The words and meanings behind this song are really touching and it’s one of my favourite Christmas songs to sing to.

Bill Haley and The Comets – Jingle Bell Rock

Other than the fact this song is sung in Mean Girls, this song just shouts festive cheer at me. I challenge you to listen to this song without humming, swaying or clicking along. I praise you if you can get past the first line!

Wham – Last Christmas

Ex partner or no ex partner, in a relationship or cruising the solo lifestyle, this is a song you sing from the heart at the top of your lungs.

Shakin Stevens – Merry Christmas Everyone

Now I might have my memories completely mixed up here, but this song reminds me of when I was younger and living in my old house. We had neighbours who were like my second parents, and so we spent a lot of time over at their house. I’m sure Gail used to love Shakin Stevens and so whenever this song came on we would turn it right up and all have a lil dance. Oh how I would love to be 10 years old again…!

Justin Bieber – Mistletoe

Hahahahha, sorry to all your JB haters out there but.. this song is my guilty pleasure. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, it just is okay. Embrace the JB vibes because it really is the most wonderful time of the year (wow, not cool but I’m gonna leave that cheese in there).

Michael Bublé – A L L   OF   T H E M

Wait, I have to choose just one of his Christmas songs? Absolutely freakin not. I know out comes the jokes about Michael Bublé defrosting and making his appearance every Christmas but come on, that dreamy voice of his singing your favourite Christmas songs is just winner winner christmas dinner.

There are SO many more I wish I could add on here but you haven’t got 5 hours to sit and listen to me ramble on sooo.. I picked a few of my firm favourite christmas sing-a-longs for you all.

What would be first on your Christmas playlist?
