The past month or so I’ve been so quiet on social media and the blog has taken a little bit of a back seat. Sometimes life just gets in the way and I’ve also got a new job which I’ll be telling you ALL about in a couple of months time (eeeek). Although feeling a little guilty for abandoning, I’m back and kick starting with a Q&A for you to get to know me a little better!
‘What are the biggest rewards and struggles for you personally with being a blogger?’ | Ciara
Oooo okay lets start with rewards. When someone acknowledges your work, sends you a message or even leaves a little comment on one of yours posts it is the most uplifting thing ever. When you get an email off brands that would like to work with you, it makes you realise you are good enough. Your content is good enough. For me, knowing people like my content as much as I enjoy writing it is the biggest reward!
In terms of the struggles I have faced with blogging, I’d say self-confidence is my biggest factor. You see everyone posting these amazing photos of themselves either outfit posts or just of them out and about. Currently I’d love to have these kind of photos taken of me but the lack of self-confidence gets in the way every single time. I’m working on this AND I wrote a post all about my first experience in front of the camera!
‘Is there a place at the top of your travel wishlist?’ | Kristy
Absolutely! I recently wrote a post about this but it would definitely be Australia! I’ve wanted to visit for so long now, the only thing that slightly puts me off are the creepy crawlies and the snakes. It would be a dream to visit over New Year and watch the fireworks from Sydney Bridge – can you imagine?!
‘Do you ever struggle for inspiration and if so what do you do to overcome it?’ | Laura
Writer’s block is a pain in the arse and it’s so common to lose your mojo. This happens to me every so often and it really is so frustrating. I tend to sit down with some notepads and have a good old think. Going over my old posts, looking at the ones I really enjoyed writing and thinking about why I loved writing them helps too. I read other blogs, watch vlogs and usually a spark of creativity will come to me.
‘What superpower would you most like to have?’ | Abbey
Do I really have to choose just one? I’d probably go with being super speedy which definitely isn’t inspired because I’ve watched too much of The Vampire Diaries..
‘Is there anything specific you wish you knew about starting your blog before doing so?’ | Courtney
Oh so much!!! Blogging really is such a learning curve, and I think because it’s such a fast moving and growing industry that there’s something knew to learn every day. I’d say the thing I wish I knew first was about getting my own domain name and how it would affect my DA score. Having to start again from scratch was quite annoying, although I think it’s a hard decision to make when you’re just starting out. You don’t really want to throw money at it because you aren’t sure if it’s going to work out or not!
